Yeah this board is active. If you can bring more people over that would be great. Check out Challenge #1. I haven't had the time to finish it, but if I find the time then I may do it.

Challenge!!?? What Challenge!? Just Kidding...I forgot about the challenge. Too busy and that.
I guess this is a bit long after you posted saying that your game wouldn't work, but I have widndows XP and it's working fine for me. Maybe you should try downloading the game from a different source. For some reason, sometimes games won't work on my computer when they've worked fine for me on other computers. Simply getting it from a different source works for me on occasion.
Hi, I'm new to this forum and have had Castle of the Winds 1 and 2 on my computer for around 8 years now. However since upgrading to XP, my computer WILL NOT let me play either of the games. I've tried everything I can think of; going into properties changing compatibilities, downloading several more copies of the 2 games from different sources - NOTHING. Nada. It comes up with 16 bit subsystem problem, and mentions NT. How and what to can I do to my computer so I can run these games? Is there anything, ANYTHING, I can do to my computer (short of stripping it and putting Win 98 back on) to make this game work? Please help me, I miss it so much-I've got a major craving to play them again. Please?

Still in love with Castle of the Winds 1 and 2 after all these years! :D
What you have to do is look at the error message, and it will tell you that there is a particular file that is not working properly. Type the name into google and download it to your computer. There are pages on the actual xp website telling you were to put it etc.

If you still have a WIN98 CD around VMWare has a tool to emulate it provided you have the WIN98 CD
Another tip would be Try Windows Update, it fixes many problems with XP.
And if all else fails try searching Ebay for an older computer. (IE Something With Win95 Should be good enough and at least a decent sized Harddrive around 200 - 400MB should do)
